About Lewis Yoon

My name is Lewis.

For as far back as I could remember, I have always been interested in business. Watching and listening to my parents talk about and run their business everyday, it felt like business was just a part of our daily lives, as natural as just breathing.

 

My family comes from a long line of business owners and entrepreneurs, both on my mother’s side and father’s side. You could say, it’s in our genes.

 

My parents own and operate a mobile home park and apartment business. They’ve been operating and growing the business since even before I was born.

 

And their parents before them, my grandparents, started and operated a series of businesses too.

 

On my dad’s side, my grandparents were first generation Korean American immigrants who came with nothing and grew a small startup sandwich shop business into a successful chain of hotels.

On my mother’s side, my grandparents immigrated to America and purchased and operated a dollar store business, which they eventually parlayed into a mobile home park business.

 

And even further back, my great grandparents were also entrepreneurs and business owners.

After the Korean War, my great grandfather started the first dairy farm in South Korea. He also started a busing company, establishing several bus transit lines. 

My great grandmother started a chain of spa bath houses in Korea, and also owned and operated a real estate business. 

Another great grandmother started a fabric company after the war.

 

Growing up, I heard so many stories from the business exploits of my family, and even better, got to learn so many lessons through their experiences of starting and running their own businesses.

 

Business excites me! I see so much life in business. There are so many parallels and lessons that come out of business that are so applicable to life. It’s so valuable, and that’s why I’m pursuing it.
